Cottonwood Valley offers a great diversity in landscape, from low desert valleys to high pine forests and snow covered mountains.  This area is littered with old mines and mining camps, including a few unmarked vertical mine shafts, so be careful!  Throughout this area, you’ll find traces of the native people from our past…there are dozens of agave roasting pits spread all over the area.  Some of these agave roasting pits are massive in size & scale.  Whereas others are bunched together with 5-6 all in very close proximity to each other.
