The Mojave National Preserve has many native american rock art locations throughout it’s expansive preserve.  The Cow Cove site contains many petroglyphs scattered across a basalt boulder field.  It’s a relatively easy location to get to, with some light off-roading (although sand drifts can get quite deep, potentially bogging you down).  You can no longer drive to the main site, but it’s an easy 1.5 mile hike to the main petroglyph site.  You can extend this hike as long as you’d like, by continuing to explore the cliffs and canyons throughout this area (highly recommended).
