The Mt. Irish Archaeological District is located within the Paharangat Valley of Lincoln County, NV.  This 640 acre district is surrounded by open, beautiful land managed by the BLM.  This area of Nevada is exceedingly beautiful and has an enormous amount of ancient rock art, shelters and old village sites.  These specific petroglyphs contained on this page are estimated to be around 4,000 years old.  Lincoln County has a great resource containing information – and trails – to several of these sites.  Other sites are not published anywhere, but if you take the time to get out and explore, you might come across them.  Whether you find them, or not, is secondary to getting out into the remote beauty of the desert.
