Petroglyph Cabin

The Petroglyph Cabin is a small, but interesting site located on Alamo Road, just south of the Pahranagat Visitors & Refuge Center.  There’s not much known about this stone structure, but from what I’ve read the best guess is that it was built in the 1870’s.  Who built it?  No one really knows.  There were rumors that an old cattleman was murdered here in 1879, but again, it’s unsubstantiated (even though the murder is factual, it’s unsure where it occurred).  You can see that many of the stones have carvings on them, including many that appear to be old petroglyphs.  Also, located about 100 yards away is an old log cabin.
