I can’t say enough good things about the Pahranagat Valley area.  I know I sound redundant, but this area is spectacular.  The natural beauty is second-to-none and it offers endless recreational opportunities…searching for ancient Native American rock art, hiking, camping, off roading, etc.  It’s an expansive area, covering much of the Basin and Range National Monument area (and beyond).  It abuts the Nellis Air Force range (and Area 51), so you get the occasional flyover of military jets (which is always cool).  But, other than that, if you want to get away from civilization and be out on your own, while still close to getting back, then this is the place for you.

The images in this particular gallery come from Upper Pahranagat Lake.  There are other lakes (Middle & Lower), all connected via the Pahranagat Wash.
